English Hotel Terminology Equivalence in Other Language

Numerous studies have been conducted on the interpretation and translation of English terms into other languages. The purpose this study was to identify adequate Indonesian equivalent terminology for hotel amenities, services, facilities applied in strategies utilized by both domestic international guests understanding their native language. Qualitative research methodology used. subjects included 10 from a 5-star hotel, 4-star 5 3-star 2 staff 3 1 hotel. findings demonstrated that some commonly used hotels had equivalents, did not. were: 1) searching an online dictionary or Google search; 2) asking people they met nearby immediately; 3) guessing meaning. Domestic guests’ included: (a) clarification; (b) Future should overcome limitations study, considering translations linguistic norms training strategies.
